Our own day, it will be prospect that the effort of medical is concentrate more to prevention of a disease and building up health promotion than treatment disease. Accordingly it is concentrate that not only treatment of a disease but also prevention on circumstance of causing disease to many fator of injuring health. Especially smoking is a favorate thing by people and it will be also the most protecile factor which of the sickness and disease by a human beings. And nurse must help all smokers to quit and escape an advice, consult temporally and partially. Also nurse have to manage followingly and tend to them doing a smoking cessation continuously.
To understand the experiences of smokers. Until now there have been few studies which dealt in depth with the experiences of non-smokers, therefore this phenomenological study was carried out to help understand the smokers experiences and try to submit a basic report the smokers to guit smoking.
The datas were collected from March. 1994. The data were collected from 15, August. 1994 through 20, September. 1994 and the subjects of the study were five adults who were undergone of guiting smoking the method of collecting material are by listening to the subject’s expression their experience and by participant as soon as all material was recorded preventing a data loss.
Analysis of the data was made through the Giorgi method which is as follows : The elaborated description is studied through the process of intuiting analysing and describing. The scene, a unit of the description which begins and ends a thought is examinded or emerging themes which are identified in the words of the subject and are the central elements of the scenes. Then focal meanings are identified. The focal meaning is the crystalization of the theme which is written in the language of the researcher. A synthesis of the focal meanings becomes the situated structural description of the subjects description and thus specifies the meaning of the phenomenon from the perspective of each subject. The situated structures for all subjects are synthesized into a general structural description of the phenomenon, which is the meaning of the lived experience of the phenomenon studied from the perspective of the subjects. The results of the study analyzed on the assumption that the experience smoking cessation subject consider of their intention until guit smoking. Also their intention was influenced by their family relationship, social restriction, public information, and the general drift of affairs, etc.
So, the subjects wish recover of a symptoms of prohibition through God protection of smoking and non -smoking medicine. Also they succeed to guit smoking to escape promoting smoking factors. But they faced to about discomfort gaining weight.
Also the subjects showeded that their will of smoking cessation important factor but they have exrerienced to return smoking- experience then they were faced to the symptoms of prohibition. The subjects entrust themselves to their intension and they are reach to smoking cessation when they were able to accept a physical pain, sin of consciousness and dirt.
The conclusion, the prominent attitude toward smoking cessation was denial and the factors related to this attitude were instinctive their strong intension.
During the period while they were faced smoking cessation the subjects became to a satisfactory life style and when they had a deep faith they accepted their smoking cessation with more conviction.
So two suggestion are made to help the subjects facing smoking cessation intentional care should be emphasized in nursing care for smoking subjects. Second family members who have great influence on subjects attitde toward smoking cessation would supported so that they can be a source of support for smoking subjects in tern.
